\u201cHome Within\u201d (Spanish: El hogar que llevo) reimagines the suitcase as an intimate and essential space. The work transforms an object designed for movement into a sensitive surface where memory, identity, and experience are inscribed.

Traditionally associated with travel, the suitcase is presented here as a portable home: a container not only of belongings, but of emotions and memories that accompany each transition. The painted intervention reveals layers of use, traces of time, and personal experience, turning the suitcase into an extension of the body and of life in motion.

This collaboration proposes a dialogue between art, design, and everyday life, inviting the viewer to reflect on the notion of home as something that can be carried within, even as everything remains in constant change.

Nopalera en el Coraz\u00f3n

Nopalera en el Coraz\u00f3n, an open-air exhibition at the Z\u00f3calo. Organized by the Secretary of Culture of Mexico City.

Originally launched in 2025 to mark the anniversary of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan Foundation, the exhibition now features over 200 sculptural nopales reinterpreted by artists across the city\u2014celebrating a symbol central to Mexican identity.

Set in the Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3n, the project transforms public space into a site of art, history, and reflection\u2014inviting visitors to engage with the cultural legacy of the nopal and the historic center.

Presented within the public art initiative Nopalera en el Coraz\u00f3n by the Secretary of Culture of Mexico City at the Z\u00f3calo, Proyecto Sanaci\u00f3n by Anastasia Shi unfolds as an intimate dialogue between biography, territory, and collective consciousness.

Created during a period of personal separation, the work emerges from a process in which art becomes a form of deep healing. The nopal\u2014an ancestral symbol of resilience and survival \u2014 is reimagined as a living body that feels, remembers, and regenerates. Its dual nature \u2014 protective yet nourishing \u2014 mirrors the human experience of grief, proposing resilience not as hardness, but as a sensitive strength that allows pain to be felt and transformed.

The sculptural intervention reveals emotional layers and traces of inner repair, positioning the work as a gesture of collective healing. On its reverse, a painted blue hand accompanied by the phrase \u201cIf you heal, I heal\u201d invites viewers into a quiet, ritual act\u2014activating the piece as a shared space of care, connection, and transformation.

100 Balls, 100 Creators

A collective reinterpretation of a universal symbol

One hundred footballs, one hundred creators\u2014brought together to reinterpret a universal symbol in a singular, unprecedented collection.

Presented in the context of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Mexico, and led by Galer\u00eda Ricardo Reyes at Magda San \u00c1ngel, the exhibition is developed in collaboration with designer Ricardo Casas.

More than 100 Voit footballs are reimagined by Mexican creators across disciplines\u2014art, design, architecture, and illustration\u2014each offering a distinct perspective while celebrating Mexico on a global stage.

Opening April 22, 2026 at 7:00 PM, the exhibition will travel to multiple venues across the city and conclude with a charity auction benefiting Fundaci\u00f3n Origen, supporting women and families through programs that address violence and poverty.

\u2026Is in the Air?

Anastasia Shi \u00d7 Mexico World Cup 2026

Created in the context of the FIFA World Cup 2026, co-hosted by Mexico, \u2026Is in the Air? transforms the football into a vessel of invisible intensities\u2014a living archive of emotions in motion.

As players move across the field, what circulates is not only strategy or skill, but stored emotional states: anxiety before a decisive pass, heartbreak from private life, euphoria, rage, fear. These emotions do not disappear; they accumulate and travel through the air with every touch.

Shi suggests that the stadium is charged long before the opening whistle. The ball absorbs what cannot be publicly expressed\u2014holding tension and desire, fragility and force\u2014and revealing football as a deeply human ritual where vulnerability and power coexist.

The question mark in the title is key: what is in the air\u2014victory, pressure, collective memory, or the silent emotional labor of those performing before millions?

By monumentalizing the ball as an emotional reservoir, Anastasia Shi reframes the global spectacle as an intimate psychological landscape, where the most decisive battles remain unseen.

Heroin Dreams

Heroin Dreams explores the psychological residue of addiction beyond the body itself, focusing not on substance dependency directly, but on its presence within memory, childhood perception, and collective consciousness.

Drawing from recollections shaped by the post-Soviet heroin epidemic, the work evokes spectral figures suspended between visibility and disappearance \u2014 bodies moving through public space with an almost dreamlike detachment. These images emerge less as documentation than as emotional fragments inhabiting the space between memory and nightmare.

Approaching the subject from the position of witness rather than participant, the artist reflects on the anguish carried by families, particularly mothers attempting to save their children from selfdestruction. Through luminous color and visual tension, the work confronts the contradiction between beauty and trauma, revealing how collective grief continues to reverberate across generations.

Colecci\u00f3n R\u00edo

2024-2025

Colecci\u00f3n R\u00edo is a poetic homage to the river as both metaphor and guide. Created in Brazil, the series channels the spirit of water — flexible, unbound, and free. In its currents, the artist finds a mirror of the self: the courage to release control, the beauty of surrender, and the taste of true liberation. Each work becomes a meditation on flow, gratitude, and transcendence — an invitation to move as the river does, toward higher states of being.
