Biography
Anastasia is a Siberian-born artist whose practice is informed by an international upbringing across Russia, China, the United States, and Mexico. Her work draws on this cross-cultural experience to explore the relationship between emotion, identity, and the body.
After relocating to New York in 2013, she studied Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she developed a distinct visual language combining abstraction, symbolism, and fragmented figuration. Her compositions examine how psychological states are embodied, often presenting the figure as both constructed and in flux.
Working primarily in painting and drawing, while also incorporating performance, object interventions, and experimental material practices, Anastasia investigates themes of vulnerability, transformation, and perception. Her work is characterized by a balance between control and spontaneity, resulting in images that feel both immediate and unresolved.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in the United States, Italy, Mexico, Hong Kong, and most recently Saudi Arabia.
Alongside her studio practice, Anastasia creates public art projects and interventions that engage existing objects and environments. She also collaborates with select brands, extending her visual language into different contexts. Her work explores identity as fluid and evolving, centered on the body as a space of emotional and psychological experience.
